Music

At Charles Saer we endeavour to make music an enjoyable learning experience. We will give children opportunities to develop individually whilst working within a group context in order to maximise their performance potential. Children will be given the opportunity to perform their music as part of any teaching in the subject throughout the whole school. This includes in-class performances to share knowledge and develop confidence with their peers.

Emphasis is placed upon children’s own development as musicians and all children will have the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument. Children in KS2 are offered peripatetic lessons. It is our vision that every child adopts an understanding and love of music which they can carry with them for the rest of their lives. At Charles Saer we use the Charanga Music scheme which has been re-designed to take into account the DfE’s Model Music Curriculum.
