Maths
At Charles Saer, we believe that having a solid foundation of basic maths knowledge is imperative to being successful in the future, especially in a world where we use maths skills every day. We use the Red Rose maths scheme to help children achieve this. The Red Rose maths scheme specialises in spiralising the curriculum, ensuring that retrieval and retention of maths is of the highest importance.
Children frequently work on calculations, reasoning and problem solving, allowing them to build transferrable skills to all areas of life. Accessing these areas of maths ensures that children are able to build resilience, with all classrooms having a culture of celebrating and understanding mistakes in order to move forward with learning. Children use manipulatives and resources to help sharpen their skills in order to access work independently. Both children and teachers enjoy maths and use websites such as TTR to continue the fun outside of school!
